DEAN OF STUDENT WELLBEING

King’s College is delighted to announce the appointment of Adele Johnston as the New Dean of Student Wellbeing
The Dean of Student Wellbeing will focus on assisting our community to develop skills that contribute positively to their wellbeing, assisting our members to further flourish in the thriving King’s community. In addition, the Dean will assist and support members individually, including facilitating access to personal support services external to the College.
Adele is an experienced education professional with over twenty years’ experience in secondary education, including designing, implementing, and leading wellbeing programs focused on Positive Education.
With considerable education and experience in Positive Psychology Adele is a strong believer in wellbeing programs for our students – “My mission is to help young people and teachers thrive, by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to handle the challenges and embrace opportunities that life will inevitably present.”
King’s College has extensive wellbeing and academic support programmes, and Adele will work closely with the Deputy Master, Peter Walker, along with the Director of Academic & Careers Service, Tony Andres, and the Associate Director of Academic & Careers Services, Lynda Murphy, to further expand and enhance these offerings. The Deputy Master Peter Walker said “Adele’s passion, commitment, and experience in positive psychology and student wellbeing will be a wonderful addition to the King’s team.”
He believes her contribution to the College will assist in King’s continuing to be at the forefront of residential community support in Australia.
We look forward to welcoming Adele to the King’s College community in January 2022.
