COVID-19 Vaccination Policy Announcement

I am writing today to advise that as part of our ongoing response to the pandemic, the King’s College Council is implementing a new policy making double-dose COVID-19 vaccinations a requirement for all members, staff, contractors, and visitors attending our campus or events, commencing from 1 February 2022. This policy recognises that the health and wellbeing of all College stakeholders is an imperative and mitigates the risk of future disruption to the King’s College community.

This decision is based on public health advice. A fully vaccinated College community will assist in reducing Covid transmission rates and decreasing the severity of any related infection. The nature of our residential community means there is recurrent and everyday interaction between the many academic, work, social and recreational environments found on our campus. We already have extensive support for and uptake of vaccination within our community and this policy will allow our members to fully participate in and move seamlessly between our activities.

Members, staff, contractors, and visitors will be asked to supply evidence of full vaccination by presenting or uploading a copy of their digital vaccination certificate. The QLD Check-in app will also continue to be required by visitors to the King’s College campus.

Those members, staff, contractors, or visitors with a valid reason for being unable to be vaccinated, for example medical grounds or not yet being eligible, can apply for an exemption by contacting the Deputy Master, Mr Peter Walker.
