Clean Up Australia Day 2026

What a fantastic show of King’s spirit and community service for Clean Up Australia Day.  On Sunday, 1 March, the King’s community came together with an impressive turnout of 58 first-years rolling up their sleeves to make a difference. Led by our 2026 Community Convenors, Stefi Jackson and Georgie Gray, the group looped around the beautiful St Lucia Golf Course, grabbed a well-earned coffee, and walked back along Hawken Drive — music playing and spirits high the whole way. With everyone pitching in, plenty of rubbish was collected as our students proudly lived out the King’s values of Integrity and Respect, and our commitment to community service, through simple, hands-on action. It was also a wonderful opportunity for the first-year and second-year Collegians to connect, build friendships, and strengthen the sense of community that truly makes King’s feel like family.

Clean Up Australia Day is just the beginning of an exciting year of service ahead. We’re looking forward to celebrating Harmony Day on Saturday 21 March, continuing our partnership with the Toowong Rotary family through initiatives such as packing baby bundles for mothers in Papua New Guinea and organising medical equipment, as well as getting involved in Bushcare alongside local volunteer, Jack Ware, who runs the program. We also have the 50/50 Foundation raffle event coming up, which will be another fantastic way for our college to raise funds and give back.

We are so proud of the way our community continues to show up, support one another, and make a positive impact beyond the College gates.
