Sport at King’s
In 2018, the Old Collegians’ Cup for ICC sport has been retained by King’s for the 10th year in succession – that is an extraordinary achievement. Hearty congratulations to our athletes who performed so well at the Athletics recently in finishing second.
Particular congratulations to all Kingsmen – sportsmen and supporters who have maintained the commitment to ICC sport in 2018. It’s very hard to stay at the top and it’s even more difficult to reach for and then achieve records. Sincere congratulations to Jed Cooney – the 2018 Sports Minister and all the convenors of this year’s sports and to the KCSC Executive for their support of the teams and their encouragement of Kingsmen.
The Old Collegians’ Cup was first contested in 1913 and King’s won the competition in its first year. The College has now won the Cup on 47 occasions and has secured the longest winning streak in the 105 year history of competition (10 straight years in 2018).
