Following on from successful campaigns at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2015 and 2017 and the Hong Kong Rugby Tens in 2016-2018, the Master of King’s is pleased to announce that the College will do both in 2019.
The Hong Kong Tens will be played on 3-4 April and it is likely that a touring party of 24 will be selected to participate. In 2016, King’s was named “Team of the Tournament” in their first ever visit to this prestigious rugby tournament and in 2018, the team finished 3rd of 16.
The Henley Royal Regatta is one of the most famous Regattas in the world. It will be held between 3-7 July in 2019 and the College expects to take a squad of at least 10 to London. On our first trip in 2015 the College was relegated on Day 1 but in 2017 the College defeated Bath University on Day 1 only to meet Yale on Day 2 and face relegation. In 2019, Day 3 (at least) beckons!
New students to the College in 2019 will be eligible for selection for both trips.
